While shopping for clothes a few days ago, Camden was quite a handful. I was in a dressing room trying on a few things and Casey was waiting outside the dressing room with the kids. Suddenly, Jace peeked under the door of the room I was in and said, "Hi Mom!" I told him to go wait with Casey. The next thing I hear is Camden saying, "Hi Mom!...Where Mom?" He had looked under the wrong door! I heard the woman he looked at say to the person she was with, " A little boy just looked at me under the door!" I also heard Casey yelling at Jace and Camden to stay by him. Of course I felt bad; but the situation was kind of funny too. And at least the woman he peeked at was laughing about it.
But staying home with Camden isn't safe either. Since moving, he has definitely kept busy. First he poured an entire bottle of bug spray/sunscreen out. Luckily it was on the floor of the garage, not the house. It seems like it would be easy enough to just spray it with the hose and clean it up, right? Well, not when it's water-proof. At least it was in the garage, however his next major spill wasn't. Camden jumped on a full Capri Sun (with a straw in it). He thought that would be a fun thing to do on the hardwood floor in our dining room while I was on the phone. That was a fun one.
But not all of his destructive acts include liquid. This is what happens when you leave a two year old alone with a golf tee and a couch cushion for a few unsupervised minutes. We need to get new furniture anyway but that doesn't mean we need his help destroying the old stuff.
Camden is also getting smarter every day. For example, he knows that if something hurts he gets special treatment. So lately his tummy hurts anytime he has to pick up his toys, take a nap, go to bed, or eat something he doesn't like. We were out to dinner a few nights ago and he said, "I done, my tummy owie." Then when we had dessert, he had a bite of my ice cream sundae and said, "That ice cream make my tummy feel better!" How convenient.
Another funny thing he said also involved food. Casey had some chocolate that he didn't want Camden to see. He tried to keep it out of Camden's sight and almost hid it fast enough, but Camden caught a glimpse of the wrapper. Camden said, "What that?" Casey said, "That's nothing." Camden said, "Oh...I want some nufing." Of course Casey shared with him. How could you not reward such quick thinking with a bite of chocolate?
Now I hope I haven't made Camden sound like a complete terror. He really is a sweet kid. He adores Alek and always wants to give him hugs. And he loves to help with things around the house. If there is anything he can help with he will do it and sometimes he'll try even if the task is a little too big for him. Today he wanted to help vacuum. And just yesterday he got the dustpan and broom out and tried to sweep the floor. I doubt he'll have this much enthusiasm for cleaning in a few years so I'll try to enjoy it while it lasts.

You know the old saying, "Boys will be boys", although you're probably thinking why do they have to be boys so often! Good luck with any new furniture you buy. I don't think we'll get new furniture until Emma is married. That way maybe it'll look decent for more than 2 seconds. Kids, you gotta love 'em, but why? =)
Sounds like he's following in Jaxon's footsteps! (SCARY) when Jax was two, he put regular dish soap in the dishwasher, put the bleach pen all over the clean clothes in the dryer, and you know the driving story!!! He just had to be well entertained or well supervised- I won't wish that on you with Camden, and somehow Jax is my sweetest, snuggliest and has the tenderest heart of all my kids-go figure.
Oh what a little cutie! It makes me a little nervous for those two year old days to come... :)
I can just imagine his cute little voice in my head as I read his little sayings! I love it!
