Oh, Christmas Tree

If it weren't for the kids, these pictures would hardly be worth posting. Our tree is definitely not anything to brag about. It is clearly artificial and not very big or impressive. We decided we wouldn't get a big tree until we're in a house so we are making due with this in the meantime. But the kids were so helpful with decorating that I just had to share. Even though Jace could have reached higher he put most of the ornaments on the bottom few branches.

Camden was particularly helpful. As I pulled every Christmas decoration and ornament out of our box of Christmas stuff, he would tilt his head to the side and say, "Oh, Cute." But once it was time to decorate the tree he proceeded to break half of the candy canes and a few of the ball ornaments. The broken ornaments were accidents but he intentionally pulled on the candy canes until they broke. Then he tried to eat the broken pieces.
They really did have fun though and they were so proud to have helped. And I was glad to have helpers. One day they will be big enough to help from the beginning and help me string the lights. That proved to be my least favorite part. In an attempt to not scratch my arms by repeatedly reaching around the tree I decided to walk around it as I placed the lights. Well, you may or may not realize it, but with a tree this small it takes almost no time to circle the tree. And after just one strand of lights I was quite dizzy. Once Casey finished laughing at me for getting dizzy he helped me complete this task. That's when the kids took over and just look at what we ended up with!
