Summer Summary; August Edition

I have so much to catch up on it's kind of overwhelming. But I have to start somewhere so here we go...

(Disclaimer: This is going to be brief, I have a lot to catch up on. No pictures either. The computer that has pictures on it died and is being fixed.)

August was a busy month for us. We knew summer was quickly coming to a close and we still had lots to.

Early in August we went to Lava Hot Springs again. We went for a family reunion for my dad's side of the family. It was fun to see cousins and relax for a couple of days. The kids love it there and we had a great time even though it rained and we didn't get to spend our Saturday swimming like we usually do. Hopefully next year we'll have better weather.

Not long after that, Casey and I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary. I can't believe it's been 10 years. The time has gone by so fast. I still feel like a newlywed a lot of the time, but then I remember that I have 3 kids and we've moved several times. Then I feel old and realize that 10 years sounds about right. Casey and I went away for a weekend without the kids. My parents watched them for us and it was wonderful. We didn't go far but luckily there's lots to do in Park City. We rode the Alpine Slide, The Alpine Coaster and the zip line. We also went to a movie and did a little shopping and enjoyed lots of good food. Casey's favorite meal was the king crab legs he ordered. It was so nice to get away for a couple of nights.

As soon as we got back from our anniversary getaway, we were off again. There were two more junior golf tournaments in Las Vegas just days apart so we decided to make one more trip to Vegas before school started. We knew it would be too hard to take Jace to another tournament once school started. This time we took Alek and Camden with us. Fortunately we also had Casey's dad with us to help with the kids. One tournament was on Tuesday and the other one, the championship tournament, was on Thursday. Jace did his best golfing ever on Tuesday despite temperatures around 110 degrees. He took second place and had a score of 43. But on Thursday he had a rough time. He still came home with the 3rd place medal and a silver plate celebrating his status in the championship playoff.

We spent five days there and I think we spent some time in the hotel pool every single day. With all the swimming we did this summer Jace has learned to swim pretty well. It's not exactly pretty but he can jump in from the side and make it across the pool on his own. After having so much fun it was sad to leave and come back home knowing our summer was jsut about over. But living in a hotel room with 3 kids isn't exactly the mot realxing thing either. So when it was time to come home, we were ready. The drive home went pretty well despite having the kids with us and we got back just in time for school to start.

It really was a fun and busy month. When I get our pictures from the other computer, I may come back and add some pictures. But I have 4 other blog posts to put on here to get caught up, so that's not a guarantee.
